Staff and Leadership

Please find below an introduction to your church leaders and staff members.

Rupert (2)

Marion is our Senior Church Warden as well as being a licensed Lay Worship Leader (LWL) in the Diocese of Salisbury. Working in Health and Social Care for many years has equipped Marion for her wide and varied role as Church Warden as she lovingly supports our Clergy, Staff, Church Family and the Community. Marion has a beautiful Pastoral heart and has learnt a great deal about human nature and suffering since being made Church Warden in 2016.
Marion is passionate about St.Mark’s and St.Saviour’s Church and hopes that God will continue to lead and guide her to enable the contributions of others and to facilitate the nurturing of everyone’s gifts and skills at the Church. She continues to hold out before her
1 Corinthians 13:13: ‘And now these three remain, faith, hope and love but the greatest of all is LOVE.’

Over the years Marion has lived in Spain but now she makes her home in the Old Talbot Village with her husband Rod and dog Belle.

Janet is our Church Warden, supporting our Senior Church Warden and the Deputy Church Wardens. She has been a member of St.Mark's and St.Saviour's Church since she moved into the community 21 years ago. Janet previously attended St.Christopher's Church, Southbourne
where she was a Sunday School teacher.

A local lass, Janet grew up in Poole and was educated in the area. She worshipped at Longfleet Baptist Church until she left home.
Previously, Janet worked for many years as a Warrant Officer for the Air Training Corps (ATC) working with boys and girls aged 13-18. Latterly Janet worked within our community at Sainsbury's until she retired last year.

Janet's faith means a lot to her and in particular the Lord's Prayer which she finds very powerful and helpful to her.

Mandy 1

Mandy is our Parish Secretary as well as a Lay Worship Leader (LWL) in the Diocese of Salisbury.  Before she joined St Mark’s Church Mandy worked in a local Solicitor’s Practice as an Office Manager/ Receptionist. She worshipped in her Parish Church where she grew in discipleship and was actively involved in church worship, Alpha Courses, co-ordinating house groups and a prayer group.

Mandy feels it is a privilege to serve God in the Parish office encouraging and welcoming visitors to St Mark’s and strives to bring a community feeling of warmth and love to all those visiting or using the hall complex.

Alex is our Youth, Children and Families Minister as well as a Lay Worship Leader (LWL) in the Diocese of Salisbury. Before she joined St.Mark's Church Alex lived in Texas where she was part of the Antioch Church Community serving with the Kid's Ministry and responding to the Syrian refugee crisis visiting camps in Lebanon. Prior to this Alex spent a number of years working for Tearfund where she gained an insight and passion for working in the local church. Her adventure with God started during a Gap year with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) where she served in a London homeless shelter over the Christmas period and, in India, ministered to victims of the Boxing Day Tsunami as well as serving amongst the street children, with the women and children in Red Light districts and also in orphanages.
