We want to build God's Kingdom here at St. Mark's and St. Saviour's Church and in our community. But, church doesn't just happen on Sundays. The Bible shows us that the early church was commissioned to live in community, to worship together, to share meals, to praise God and to reach out to others.
In order to be The Church - WE NEED YOU!
Join a team and be part of something AMAZING!
We want to encourage everyone, as a member of our church family, to serve on a team - for fun, friendship and a great way to release your gifts.
Together we can make a real difference as a local church.
There are many areas for you to serve within the life of the church whether you have lots of time to give or just occasionally. Please check out the list below to see which group you would be happy to join:
Hospitality and Refreshments Team
Kids' Church (DBS check required)
Youth (DBS check required)
Breakfast Service Team
Maintenance and Grounds Team
Church Cleaning Team
To find out more about each of these teams please explore below.......
Our Welcome Team aims to offer a warm welcome to all new and exisiting members of our church as well as our visitors.
Coming to church can sometimes be a daunting and scary experience - particularly if someone is new or attending church on their own. If you are friendly, smiley, chatty and enjoy meeting people then please consider joining our Welcome Team which operates on a rota basis.
Hospitality and serving refreshments provide an important part of our church fellowship.
Whether it is serving coffee, tea and biscuits after the Family Communion Services, or dunking doughnuts and coffee before the Family Service, we would love to hear from you. Serving, and the washing up afterwards, is organised on a rota basis.
The Bible tells us that God is present in our praises - what a wonderful way to do that, through music. We love to woship God and to create an environment that moves us closer to Him. If you play a musical instrument, or sing, then we would encourage you to join the Worship Team - all ages welcome.
As well as providing music for the Family Service (usually the 4th Sunday in the month) and the Breakfast Service (usually the 2nd Sunday in the month), being part of the music team will require you to meet regularly with the other team members to pray, rehearse and prepare together.
For further information, and to audition, please contact Jo Higgins:
We want our children to learn about the Bible and how it relates to Jesus in fun and creative ways - through music, sharing Bible stories, games, crafts and more. If you want to serve Jesus by serving our children at St. Mark's and St Saviours, then please do get in touch.
For Kids' Church we urgently need people who have a passion for Jesus and are willing to take a lead in teaching the Bible to children (training will be given). In addition, we also need helpers to assist the leaders and for safeguarding purposes.
For a fun filled few hours on a Sunday morning come and join the team! You'd be required to commit for one Sunday a month (or more if you would like!) to be part of the Climbers or Explorers Groups which meet during the 10:30am Family Communion Service on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sunday's of the month.
We would also like to create a new group - Rockets - for the 3-5 year olds. Can you help?
We also offer a Creche on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month and need more helpers for this.
Even if you can't commit to one Sunday a month, but you would still like to be part of the team, we'd love to hear from you.
This team need to be DBS checked. The opportunity to be trained in Bible teaching is provided as well as training in Safeguarding and First Aid4Kids.
Please contact: Alex Morris, Children's Minister.
We have a fantastic group of young people who attend our FUSION youth group (10 - 15 year olds). They are a fabulous whirlwind of boundless energy, with lots of questions, creativity, spontaneity and more. Our times together are always action packed!
As active followers of Jesus there is no greater opportunity than coming alongside the next generation - we can be positive role models to these young people, believing in their potential, nurturing their gifts, encouraging and cheering them on their way as they navigate the highs and lows of growing up and becoming teenagers.
The group meets every other Thursday during term time. You will please need to be available from 6pm to 8:30pm in order to help with set up and set down.
(A DBS check as well as attendance at Safeguarding training is required).
Please contact Alex Morris, Children's Minister
In order to pull off our popular flavour filled Breakfast Service (just once a month) we need all hands on deck. Please consider joining our:

Set Down Team: To put everything away - all the tables and chairs and creche toys and equipment, musical instruments and children's carpet.
Cooking Team: To help butter the baps, sizzle the sausages and brew the coffee.
Clean Up Team: To help wash up and clear up the kitchen.
Creche Team: To help care for the 1-3 year olds (up to their 3rd Birthday) whilst their parents enjoy the service.
(A DBS check will be required and attendance at Safeguarding training).

MAINTENANCE AND GROUNDS TEAM
If you are a practical, hands on, roll your sleeves up kind of person, and are willing to help with the general maintenance, facilities and up keep of the church and grounds, we would love to hear from you.
Like all beautiful houses, God's house has to be cleaned and dusted. Would you like to be a member of the 'shining team' to make God's house Shine?! Marigolds optional!
Do you love flowers? Would you like to help dress the church with floral displays for special occasions, events, weddings and funerals?
The team meet on Friday mornings, each week, 9:30am - 11:30am. There is also some watering and dead heading required mid week.
There is heavy lifting involved so please consider this before getting in touch.
Please contact Elaine: Greensian17@hotmail.com
If you would like to get involved in any of these areas or have another question about getting more involved in the life of the church, please contact the church office.
